Got a feeling this car has had a bump at some point as it has the wrong bumper, lights and steering wheel for a a version 5, however seller is trying to convince me that the crystal lights were added in 99

My V5 STI RA Ltd has crystal headlights, and I think they were standard. My Mrs Sport (MY99) has the same lights so he may be right they were added to 1999 Models - never really thought about it - still crap headlights!!
Bumper is wrong (and has a splitter fitted) and STI should have a pink badge on the grille so could be front end damage.
Steering wheel is wrong but may have been changed to get rid of the airbag. Looks like an early Nardi wheel.
Should have a plaque at the front of the tray in front of the gearstick which I can't see.

With a V5 engine too.
I wouldn't worry about it to be honest. Most cars of that age will have had a bump now and then, especially a wannabee race car such as that!

Ebay username suggests it, and I recognise the car, I got some parts off Simon when I crashed mine a few years ago.
He used to run a bodyshop, Auto Image, but, I don't know what happened there.
He is/was a nice genuine guy, provided it's the same chap. Fairly sure his dad had a P1. I believe Alyn also knows them.
Planning a visit to it Banny? It's in my neck of the woods.

Those don't look like crystal headlights to me, just normal facelift headlights. The crystal ones are more see through and have that strange round thing in the middle.
