P1 Cat Question - Definitive Answer required.
#1
Sorry to bring this up again but I am confused.
A while back Arron asked a question re downpipes and Cat's on P1's.
I replied along the lines that my Dealer told me there was a centre cat ( small ) and one on the downpipe.
This was met with some derision from certain parties saying that my dealer knew jack and the bit in the centre was not a cat.
Then in the thread

Thanks for the response and please do not take the following the wrong way.
My dealer leans the other way and has sold quite a few P1's , Pete C says Yes and M Woods answer in the Arron's thread was a little ambiguous ( well my interpretation of it ).
I did not pick up on it it in the P1 Video - Guess I'll have to watch it again.
Hence why I am asking.
Could somebody from Prodrive/Subaru put me out of my misery.

P1 has one cat in the downpipe. This has the same external dimensions as a Turbo but is has a higher precious metal content and is therefore better at reducing the emissions.
The centre pipe has no cat. It's external appearance is similar to the normal Turbo centre section (which does have a cat) but the second small resonator is a little larger to make up for the fact that the cat is a better silencer. We use this same pipe as part of the 99/00MY Performance Pacakage.
I hope this clears up any confusion that has been caused
