Can't see the relevance of their nationality, and it was your choice to take it to the "dirty F*****G C***S"!

I feel sorry for you but, if you don't want to risk having your car damaged then don't take it to a £5 car wash service

It's sad, but not surprising.

You get exactly what you pay for & you miss out on noticing things that could need your attention by not doing it yourself.

Not 1 to judge but those places you usually pay through the window as they are drying the car .. Then u drive off
U sure it was done by washing
Look's like it's been keyed
Then again I'm just looking at a picture , it's your car
Nasty though ,

That is exactly why only myself or a highly respected valeter I know ever wash my car & his price list starts at £50. £5 for a car wash is what you'd pay the local Scouts for bob a job to wash an old banger with knackered paint work. Feel for you Matty but these guys really don't give a toss about the cars they wash for peanuts.

I would struggle to do that with a chamois and a spunge.

Looks like its been there a while that. You can see where the lacquer has started peeling.
Unless they caught it with something, id say you couldn't scratch a car that bad with the most grittiest sponge.

I take my car to a local wash where some of the hardest working "foreigners" I have seen clean my car.

Does look like a key mark.

A stone in a sponge could make that mark but it does look like it's been keyed the only thing that has me thinking though is the mark goes over the back light as well like someone washing and moving a dirty sponge in that direction over the side and rear light causing the mark.SJ.

Ditto. I usually like to wash my own car but on the odd occasion I've taken it to car wash, they take good care and do a great job for the money. I usually opt for the chammy dry and sill wipe for an extra couple of quid.

There's no way a hand wash would have caused those marks.

Yes it was my choice to take it there which is something I never do as a rule but in this instance I didn't have much time and was passing. And if they were English at least I'd of been able to have a civil conversation with them about it instead of getting a bemused look.

I highly doubt its been keyed, I didn't notice it before I left the house and did notice it when I returned. And its always parked on my drive which would mean somebody would have to go out of there way to run a key down it. And would they just key the one small area ???

Anyway, however it happend its done so thats that, just wanted a rant thats all. Suppose it goes with the theme of the car since the wife kerbed three of the four freshly refurbed wheels last week

What ever people think it's a mark that he propberly never saw until it was washed I know I would be more then pissed that's why no one washes my car but me or my wife as we have both been detailing cars for years now.SJ.

hey matt, sorry for your bad luck mate-its gutting when things like this happen

it does look to straight to be a mark left by a stone in a sponge,it would be a curved mark surely?

did they use one of them lances with a brush on it?

i would say its more of a key mark myself

That's handbag/shoulderbag height.

Our BM gained a similar scratch, same height and depth...It was either the paperboy with the free papers or the postman. Probably the paperboy as they are usually plod around in their own little world with there ipod on and texting

High pressure washer nozzle - had that on my old BM. Never take another car down to one of those places again.

Let's face it, the scratch could have been made by absolutely anything, stone in a sponge, stone in a brush, zip on a coat, button/zip on pants, handbag, any other sort of bag, keys, a ring on a finger, fact is guessing what's done it when it could have been owt isn't gonna change anything lol.

**** happens it's done now least it wasn't the subaru!

Bad luck fella, there's always something to pay for, otherwise we wouldn't go to work.

They don't call them the rape'n'scrape for nothing. Must've been a high pressure jetwash to peel the laquer either side of the scratch. Feel for you mate. That's why no one washes my car but me.

I can tell just by the way it looks that it's been 'Keyed'

No way would that happen in a hand car wash that deep. By the way this comes from years of experience working around cars.
