hi,some of you may have seen my previous thread about some **** trying to scam me,im selling on of my cars at the moment and since this **** tried to scam me I have now received a text message with an offer I would accept from a company called www.new-autotrader.com.
I have to pay a £75 refundable deposit to book the appointment,they have said they will collect the car and pay cash. anyone ever heard of them?,i cant find any info on the web about them,and don't fancy paying £75 to find out either.
any info would be a great help...

What thought process went through your head for this thread to to even get started , I find it completely shocking how anybody would ever even question whether stuff like this could be genuine , it goes to show why these scams exist there seems to be a captive market of people who are very easily taken

i think it happens when you get some interest in your car after long periods of no interest.
your brain lights up and doesnt compute correctly.desperation probably creeps in.
hasnt happened to me but can see why some people fall for it.
i think we buy any car and the like also ask for one off payment to sell the car to them. admin fee.

and we buy any car agree a price and when you take the car there proceed to knock the agreed price down, then most people just agree as they have paid the admin fee and traveled to them.

they are scamming ***** too.

yes i agree, i was trying to get rid of an old bmw a few years back and i put the details in webuyanycar and came back with offer of 156 quid ha ha. sold on ebay for 650.

A guy i work with stupidly agreeded to a similair proposition.
Paid his money, waitied in all day for them to collect and guess what.....
no one ever turned up, £100 and a days holiday down the pan.
Oh and some serious ripping when he told us all

hmm,not actually via a bank transfer,have u been on their website?,i actually think this is a scam and wondered if anyone had come across them before,you are supposed to go to a local shop (pp) paypoint to make the payment then they give u a voucher and you get a code o something. gon the website lol

Well if it isn't a scam its just another rip off company like webuyanycar.com.

Pay them £75 handling charge and then they pay you a third of what the car is worth. In other words, a completely legal scam.
