Hope so for your sake! £500 road tax and super unleaded petrol at 19mpg doesn't compensate for the initial 'reduced' price. Miss my Subaru but these are the reasons I sold up.

The jury is out on this one. Subaru have lost loads of ground over recent years. Tax, MPG and most importantly of all the disastrous 2.5 farce of an engine suggest we should tread carefully.
In 2008 I jumped in early, bought a Hatch before it was in the U.K and over the following years watched as engines popped everywhere. No way would I ever do the same again. Won't buy again now until a new model has at least 12 months reliability under its belt.

If it had a new engine I would of had one
Looks the part and good value for money
Remember classics were nearly 23k in 2000
Power is adequate
But nervous of the engine saga
Also I would want a 5 year warrenty not a three year on the STi
