Default Subaru Specialists In London/Surrey area

Hi, have just purchased Paul's 470BHP 07 Hawkeye STI and was wanting to get the oil changed (correctly) and speak to a reputable localish mechanic in case i need them which i am sure i will - i have searched many times and have found a few, but narrowed down to:

Surrey Subaru Specialists

Any other suggestions or are these guys (Dan) good?

I am located in Twickenham area, so if anyone has experience that would be great

Thanks again

Ross

Default Thanks :)

Thanks, have checked on that forum and there are quite a few all with mixed reviews, and used to use Subaru 4 you with my previous scooby but is a little bit to far - i just wondered if there was anywhere more local such as Surrey Subaru Specialists and if they are good?

Thanks

Ross

You've already heard of Dan at SSS

Alternatives include GRD, TFS, or Slowboy Racing near Brands Hatch

Slow boy racing brands hatch if not too far. Or simon jgm might be able to advise.im sure he's from the surrey area and uses local garages to him to tune cars, which obviously know how to treat a scooby.

If you are paranoid about it being done wrong - do it yourself.
The trickiest bit is getting the under-tray off and it ain't that tricky.
The sump is under no pressure, so it is easy to get the torque on the sump plug right. Use a tension wrench, if you are worried.
Oil filter goes on hand tight - just prefill.
On your model (and mine) you can cold crank the engine on WOT - 10 sec should do the trick (you might want to try this with a warmed engine for confidence first). This way, you can get the oil around the engine before you fire it up.
I stick in 3.5 litres and then top up.

I agree - it is just that he mentions he usually does it himself and that he has had Subarus before,

Yeah cool - thanks, nice to have the stamp in the book also.

If it was a standard engine i would - but due to the spec i would rather not risk it and also good to know a specialist incase anything else needs doing.

I might use TFS racing - aldershot They seem to have good reviews
