Default carbon wrap...

Im going to carbon wrap my bonnet tomorrow as sick of looking at all the stone chips all over the front of it and as its my 1st go i was wondering if its best to fit it with the bonnet on or remove it and fit it on the bench?

On the car in the wind. Also make sure you have loads of chips as the all show through to complete the chav effect

Yep, all the chips will show through the wrap and it'll be a nightmare to try and cover. Better off saving a couple hundred quid and get it painted. Plus carbon wrap bonnet looks rubbish IMO.

Don't wrap in in fake carbon looks terrible, just flat black it till you can
paint it properly.

Your bonnet would look better if you wrap it round a tree tbh than carbon wrap , as above I'd save the money and get a paint job

No offense mate but it's really not a good look

Im not trying to find peoples opinions on weather or not its a good look or even what they would do if it was theirs, all i want to know is would it be better to wrap it with the bonnet taken off or on the car?

For what it's worth, I reckon it'll be easier to do it with the bonnet of mate, that way you can take it indoors and you can move the bonnet about ect if needed, go for it mate, it's your car

I also have a lot of stone chips, but on my windscreen, I fancy going down the carbon wrap route, would this be easier to wrap in situ or best to remove it first?

It's not to hard mate to be honest, just make sure you use plenty of water and I allways find it easier to work from the middle outwards, I'm sure you've watched a few videos though so you know what your doing, good luck and get some pics up when your done mate

Reason i said off the car is it will be much easier to work the rear edge of the bonnet, also use a stopper filler to fill as many of the stone chips you can.

Think carbon wrap looks terrible, from a far it looks matt coloured?? Couldn't you get the bonnet re-sprayed and then clear wrapped(think supercars have this fitted) Looks so much better having shiney paintwork!!

Im really not a fan of wrap, my mate does it for a living and I think some of the cars look terrible once fitted, some of the cars have matte black on Bentley continentals, Ferraris, Lamborghini's etc, why would you ruin a car like this!!!

I seen an audi a4 recently that I though was a terrible matt black paint job , but a closer look I realised it was completly carbon wrapped. It looked crap as it was wet in places , and it was a standard a4 with no other mods

FWIW there now is glossy 3m di-noc carbon wrap available. I've worked with real carbon quite a bit and must say on pictures it really does look like real carbon. I might use it on the center console one day. Far better than the fake carbon wraps a few years ago. And at least as genuine as a black plastidipped spec-c wannabe center console.
