built by a member from here do you mean?

http://www.monsterunit.net/home.html

they look like a show car club that do the odd trackday, not sure they build cars themselves?

either way I wouldn't want to bank on it being immaculate just because its owned by one of the members! I'd want proven history to back the car up, proof of any modifications carried out properly from the relevant company's. proof of any common faults being addressed etc (depending on model).

Yeah i think they build all themselfs, yeah well i am going to go and see it anyways and have a closer look! what would be the best things to watch out for? Its not a club member who has it a guy from aberdeen bought it at 88'000 and is selling it at 90'000

This the one? Looks like a nice example and well cared for, it's been built by Andy Forrest by the looks of things. He is very well respected in the Subaru world! I'd get in touch with him if your serious about buying to confirm it's history.

It's the earlier 2.0 so has the much stronger engine than the newer 2.5, good spec on the chassis too. Rear shocks are common issues on these, but it's AST coil overs so that's already rectified! I'd do the usual check on it's history for accidents etc.. But looks like a good example. Possibly get some pounds off too with the higher mileage! I'm not too clued up on exact pricing figures so hopefully someone else will confirm that..

Buy it....mileage is fine, I run a 120k WRX and a 100k STI and both are fine, as well as you look after them that is

Where does it say it was built by Andy Forrest? Mapped - yes, serviced - yes, built - no. It may be but it does not say it.
AST's are know to corrode very badly and are not cheap to reapir when they start leaking. Whiteline parts are also know to corrode.
The mileage is high and similar with less mileage are available for less.

That's why I said 'it looks like' it's been built, I presumed he would have fitted the parts or had some input. Hence saying to contact him to get the full story..

Perhaps a better choice of words would be 'looks like the parts have been fitted by..'

Just trying to help someone out

Mileage is just a number in my eyes , as long as the car has been looked after , well serviced and maintained it will be fine regardless of mileage
