Default 400bhp+ 2.5 hatch sti with 2.5" full decat

Hi everyone,

Currentley looking at a 2.5" full exhaust system for my hatch sti.

What sort of power can this be good for?

Im looking to get around 400-450bhp ish?

I know theres a few people on here running a nice amount of power on a 2.5" system just wondering if its a lucky few

Jamie

That'll be one quick car Can you run that power on a 2.5 exhaust? Or would you need a 3.0
Any idea what your looking at spending to get that power?

I think the 2.5 will be getting quite restrictive at those figures.

My advice is speak to the tuner your gonna get to build the engine and take there advice, you want it built up as a package so it performs, picking this and and that and the other may mean parts don't compliment each other and performance suffers.

Yeah i know mate just wondering! Theres a few lads on here running 430ish on a 2.5".
And a 2.5" system has come up.

And just forging it and bolt on mods. Sourcing all the parts from america as it works out cheaper evan with customs charges which is okay.

Then get it built by a pro!

Just unsure what turbo atm.

Thanks tidgy,

Ive got a nice big list of what i need for my build.

Just not sure on what size exhaust and is half an inch will make a massive difference?

Ive read it will get restrictive depending on how much power you want

Wouldn't bother with a 2 1/2 inch system. Go straight to 3 inch for that power level.

Certainly not worth cutting back when modding. It'll only cost you more in the long term.

We will supply a Milltek 3" cat back system for £864 inc vat.
An alternative is the Cobra system (louder) for £775 inc vat which includes a sport cat.
Of course, as the builder of many modified Hatches including this one sporting 565 bhp we'd be glad to quote for any other work.

Looks like the general feeling is 3inch? Even though 2.5 can be done at that power level?

Viper-d is running good power on 2.5" hayward and scott think
Its circa 430.

Thanks Alan will keep you in mind
