thieving barstools!!
my missus went to work on thursday parked her motor[citroen xsara],when she came home she said her exhaust was blowing?
i took a look and the centre section was hanging down so i thought it had just snapped as they do.
we left it a day then i drove car round to local mechanic who put it up on ramps and we had a look. dirty thieving barstools had cut the cat out of the centre section.completly fooked bothe sections of exhaust.
called the old bill who said that it had been happening in our area recently and had a call that day about it.
going to cost 350ish to replace whole exhaust.
i live in sydenham south east london.unbelivable.

My work pickup (Ford Ranger) had the cat stolen about a year ago. Cost about £1500 to replace that thing, fortunately the company paid for the replacement. Apparently Mercedes Sprinters are a favourite for the thieves.
They caught the bloke that stole it. He was linked with a load of others similar thefts in the area and got banged-up for 18 months.

There is a word for them; Pikeys
Tat theives are a pain in the **** - we can't leave old downpipes (cats) or old batteries outside cos the ******* climb the 7ft steel fences and nick them! Pity they don't rip their nuts open on the pointed ends of the fencing (would stop them breeding at least
). And we reguarly find them sculking round the back yard, when confronted they ask if any scrap wants taking - every single one of them so far has a pikey accent.
That said some of them do go in reception and ask and offer a few quid to take them off our hands, and we'll let them, but the ones that sneak round the back get told to f**k off.
We regulaly get vans and 4x4s in with the cats nicked. Very easy to steal as you just slide under with a pipe cutter and its out in a little over a minute. Fiat/Pug Scudos/Experts, L200s and Vitos are the usual targets.
We weld all-thread alongside the cats and pipe which prevent a pipe cutter getting around it. Also engraved "STOLEN" with post code and reg number on the top of the replacment cat too (although they'd probably grind that off - presuming they can read)

The thing is though waht are they doing with all these stolen cats etc.?
According to the government it is now very hard to fence stolen metal etc. through scrapyards as they are all legislated etc.
Seems another instance where reality and the fantasy world of the politicians is completely different.
About three months ago a small fairly isolated terrace of 12 houses just up the road from me awoke to no electricity..... the overhead copper cables supplying said properties had been stolen overnight... yes in the dark while live.

That reminds me tale my landlord from 1989 told me about. He'd beeen no good boyo in his youth., broken home, been inside and was now living outside the smoke - but the boys in blue were still keeping an eye on him, he reckoned
Anyway him and his friends stole the propshaft off some escort or similar...I dare say quite amusing so the guys face as he goes to drive off in the morning
Least you wouldn't have that problem nowadays

Well, they did steal the whole truck a few years later, Never to be seen again, it was a rare under-ram tipper body on a medium wheelbase too, so quite distinctive to those who know their trucks.
I know the price of scrap metal is down at the minute, well it was before Xmas but I would think they'll get a bit more than £25 if it was an OE cat, my cat snapped on my fiat scudo van, weighed it in and got £173 called into Andrew pages for a new cat which was £110 lol.
Hence why scumbags bother to run around at night cutting people's cats out. They obviously weigh scrap in every week, so it must be hard to trace where the scrap has come from if its stuff like cats, probably too much hard work proving that a certain cat is from a certain car.
I weighed a full classic impreza in a couple of years ago which I had broken for parts for a mate, I cut the car into 6 pieces using 4 still saw discs, tool it to the metal recyclers in my brother LWB transit and they didn't even ask me for any paper work for the vehicle!! I only got £40 quid for it at the time aswell so that was worth doing lol.
