Going to look at an 05 sti tomorrow - I have had a search around the site and got some info but as always it leads to more questions than answers!

73k on the clock, and listed mid £7k. It seems to be standard and fitted with PPP. I know about the knocking suspension, but it seems common consensus is there isn't much else to go wrong on these. (hope that's the case, correct me if I'm wrong) - except the usual accident damage & abuse.

What would happen if one of the previous owners had run on 95 octane? I think there was 4 previous owners so it's pot luck how it was treated. Would there be any tell tale signs of engine problems that could be spotted on general inspection or test drive? I hear the syncros on the 6 speed could be an issue, I take it this is just crunching on changes, anything else gearbox related to look out for?

Any other suggestions? Been to see some others, but I haven't owned a scoob before so don't know more than the general stuff. Any info would be much appreciated!

 

Look for rust between the rear spoiler and boot lid. Mines is needing paint and its about the same milage.
