Default Boost loss

Hey guys need sum help. My impreza wrx keeps losing boost now and again. Drops from 13-14psi down to around 7. If I turn ignition off and back on again it's ok. I'm thinking an electrical problem, any help appreciated peeps.

Is it a classic Impreza?

Do you have a engine management light come on? It might be worth trying to read the ecu codes if it is a classic?

What conditions does it happen under, for example is it always hard driving does it happen? Does it happen every time you use the car? Or just sometimes?

Will it not boost over 8psi? I had this problem but just whipping the negative off the battery, leaving it 10 mins and reconnecting it permanantly sorted it. From what i read the car didnt like something i did so was only boosting off the wastegate, which is 8psi .
