You'll find the standard wiring has 2 earths (for dipped and main beam) and a single live because it uses a switched earth system. You'll need to confirm the live and split that into 2 feeds, one each for the main and dipped and run the correct switched earth for each light. Do it properly and add a couple of relays for piece of mind...

The above thread will give you everything you need and although it is for UK300 lights the principle is the same

Hi there vc 1985, here is the wiring details..
…. SUBARU MORETTE HEADLIGHT WIRING ….
Subaru headlight system is common positive, switched ground. The wiring of the headlight connectors in the car is as follows-
Driver side- common positive = red/light blue (centre terminal on connector)
low beam switched ground = yellow/red
high beam switched ground = red
Passenger side- common positive = light blue/white
low beam switched ground = yellow/red
high beam switched ground = red
The wiring on the Morettes-
Common = gray
Low beam = yellow
High beam = blue
Both sides on the Morettes are the same colours. The gray common should be connected to the common positive for each side. The low and high beam wires should go to their respective switched grounds.
Also make sure the two wires to the battery are connected properly. The one with the inline fuse is connected to the positive terminal, the other one to the negative. Don't go by wire colour, the positive may be black.
And there are also the two wires that go from the driver side light to the passenger side. They have to be plugged into their mating connectors in the passenger side light, if they aren't connected the passenger high beam won't work.
Driverside-
Morette side plug into Factory harness side
grey plug into red/light blue
yellow plug into yellow/red
blue plug into red
Pass Side-
Morette side plug into Factory harness side
grey Plug into Light blue/white
yellow plug into yellow/red
blue plug into red

It can be as simple as that but when you pull a morette apart it has all of the relays mentioned in the NASIOC thread. Without them you may not get the main and dipped on together when you flick the main beam on.
