Impreza Terzo anything special?
Just after a couple of opinions please,
I have got an Ibiza advertised for sale & someone has asked if I will swap for an R reg impreza terzo,
The Impreza has done 120k but no history, Says its rocker cover is leaking & needs a bush on gear ;leaver as it doesn't centralise when in neutral,
It has 11 months MOT & 4 months tax.
I would be selling it on and was wondering if there is a good market for them?

Nope, Its a uk turbo with fancy paint.
The fact it needs work and has 120k with no history makes it worth very little. Even if the body is perfect (which I very much doubt) then its still not worth much more than a grand imo.
Imprezas with no history are notoriously hard to sell. I'd personally steer clear.

The only special edition UK classics worth bothering with are the Series McRae, the P1 and the RB5 (although this is little more than a tarted up UK Turbo 2000 when not in WR Sport form although at least the colour was a good one).
The Terzo and Catalunya were just paint jobs and for some reason people paid more for them back when they were new.

Yeah mate, I was looking at it so did a little digging, once I found that thread on the GT-R forum of how it 'used to look' I changed my mind.
As said I don't think the Terzo's are anything special, it'd just be cool to say you own 1 of only 333 cars ever made and there's now only 140 odd left... Only to people not clued up on Scooby's obviously. Lol

I've got no. 048 here in my yard. But I sold the numbered plaque to somebody, so I guess no 048 is running around somewhere. I'm presuming only one car has the plaque ?? If so I'd guess the one with the plaque being no. 060

Saw one being driven by a right tool last night outside Leeds.
Nothing special, merely a Turbo 2000 but still a limited edition car, they are uncommon. Many have fallen into the wrong hands unfortunately.

Bit of a grey area, the log book states terzo. But no-where is it actually quoted what number was given to the car. I suppose there will have been cars whom have genuinely lost their plaque and felt the need to replace. I'm sure Subaru uk, will have it on record somewhere what number the car was given. They have the sigma alarm pins on file which were fitted after manufacture. So a possible avenue to do some checks.

subaru impreza terzo 333
ive never understood y the terzo has not had the following as the rest of the ltd edt, i no its a uk turbo but the fact is they only made 333 sureley thats a goodthing, and theres only 141 left in the world, it anous me off that everyone raves on abouth the others just cuz there a bit quicker, thats just petty, all most people do is put sti bits onto there stock scooby anyway, well im a fan and always will be.

Why not the following of other editions?
The Terzo is nothing but a regular Turbo 2000 with a blue paint job and a plaque. That is why people don't get too excited about it. That's not to say it's a bad car, but compare it to an STi model import...
The only limited editions we've had here that are a significant departure from a well-specced regular model are the 22B, RB320 and the Cosworth. You could argue the WR1 fits into that category too. These are the models people will pay a premium for, especially in the case of the 22B - it will be interesting to see how the market regards the others in 20 years time.

They were the first WR blue saloons in the UK with gold sti alloys back in the day. They also had aircon and 6 changer CD. In 1998 this made them worth a premium as imports were rare . Since then WR blue has become really common and STIs are 2 a penny.

Terzo
1997 saw Subaru win the WRC manufacturers title for a third time in succession. Even before the official announcement to the UK Subaru dealers, rumours were circulating over the inevitable release of a third special edition, with the possible specification suggested being very close to the final car. Available from April 1998 onwards, at an on the road price of £22,995, a total of 333 "Terzo" special editions have been produced (numbered 1 to 334, omitting 13). Terzo is Italian for third. This is to celebrate the third WRC championship victory in a row, and hence the third special edition. Specification for the Terzo is as follows:
Special mica blue paintwork (similar but not identical to the current WRC cars)
Current style 16 inch alloys, but painted gold
Air conditioning
Alacantra + suede effect interior trim (Same front seats as fitted to recent STi models, but without embroidered STi logo, and red shoulder flashes)
Interior number Terzo plaque
Cobra 6422 Thatcham Category 1 alarm with remote central locking
Side and rear Terzo decals
Special Terzo floor mats
Non folding rear seat
