Default Subaru Impreza WRX 1995 College Project HELPP!!

Hi guys,

I amdoing a motorsport course at college and as part of my course I have to do aproject which just involves me changing one part on the Subaru Impreza WRX 19952.0 Turbo that we have. I have chosen to change the turbo and have already done a bit ofresearch for which turbo I could use. I have chosen to look into a normalturbo, a twin scroll turbo and a variable geometry turbo. I am hoping someonecould help me out to give me some opinions on which turbo would be the best forthe job I have. Also, it would be very helpful for any information anyone knowsabout these different types of turbo and any websites that could help me. Ihave made a little scenario for my project and the car will be used for atouring car type race where you have to do a number of laps. I am after themost power possible but I want to have the least amount of turbo lag becausethe car has to be the quickest car round the track. Any help that anyone can offer would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Jordan

Jordan,

Here's a basic starter.

It's not all about power. Torque is king, handling, brakes and the driver make a hell of a difference.

Impreza's are a huge subject and I wish you the best of luck.

Thanks for the Help but within my project I have chosen to specify in the turbo area and I know a lot more parts would have to be changed but most of the other parts are being done by the other people on my course. I am just trying to get more power but I don't want to much because I don't want much turbo lag. I am after a simpler sort of explanation about how the turbo work and what pros and cons I will get from them and which would be the best turbo for my task.
