Boost leak or clutch slipping??
My uk turbo has developed a problem in the last few weeks, only happens in 3rd/4th/5th gears where just after the turbo comes in (or usually at about 3k revs) the revs go up quickly with little resistance, yet the car power isn't reaching the transmission.
Sounds exactly like clutch slip but it only happens when the accelerator is all the way down and the turbo is at what would be full pressure. If I'm cruising along in 5th at 1.5k revs and put me foot down the clutch doesn't slip.
Could just be early sign of clutch wear due to the extra force of the turbo or a boost leak?
Car has 110k+ miles on it so the clutch needs doing anyway, but I'm trying to prioritise it's shopping list
