Default Litchfield Type 25

I've been looking for one for a while, I'm after a hawk T25 but I can't find one anywhere and one point me in the right direction?

Any help is much appreciated

Maybe keep an eye on / contact Hurst Cars in Bedford.

Mainly JDM's at the moment though it seems :

All Lichfield Type 25s are JDM

Try contact the man himself, i.e. Iain Lichfield, if he hasn't got any used ones at the moment at least he can get in touch if one comes up. They are pretty rare though.

Any reason why you're after a type 25 specifically?

Lovely cars but they require a lot of upkeep.

Yes because I want one of the best hawks that's been built

Not much difference to my 8 MR to maintain

+1
Not because they did come in red is it?

I wouldn't know about the actual running costs but with such a rarity you would have to keep it well maintained, outside and in, to maintain its value.

As a performer it can't go wrong and looking at some of the reviews you probably wouldn't go wrong in buying one either.
As an alternative there are Type 20 Hawks (even rarer, only 12-16 being created seems to be the general feeling, though they aren't numbered).

Ooops, our threads crossed .

For that reason I'd then certainly suggest spreading your net to include T20's.

Honestly as good as a twin scroll 2.5 sounds it's not wholly reliable from what I gather. A single scroll forged 2.5 is a much better unit for lifespan and give you similar power outputs with the right bits fitted.

For 400-bhp or so twin scroll I'd look at getting a nicely specced Hawk JDM and uprate the turbo, injectors and exhaust with a remap.

But fair play the Type 25 is a nice car.

Why is that Richard?

- Is yours easier on the maintenance side?

Regular oil changes aside it's like running any other.

But compared to a Type 25 I suspect I won't have to strip the engine down as often...

Mmm..........

Then I wouldn't just suggest but I'd strongly suggest that you include a Hawk T20 in your search.

Remapped (by JGM) 373/389. Being 120Kg lighter (Spec C) there can't be much - if anything - that us non-pro drivers would see as a difference in performance.

From experience of driving two twinscrolls with an LM400 I can recommend it highly. Other than driving on stock turbos on Spec Cs I can't commemt on other configurations.

I heard the LM400 is a waste of time and your better of with the 420 or even the LM460.

I'm not sure in what way you mean but hazarding a guess, the Fifth Gear piece on them includes a comment about the lack of lag.

I'm not sure what (LM) went into the T25 Hawks but they are rated at 415bhp iirc.

As someone else who had a billet LM400 fitted to my old Spec C I can say that they are far from a waste of time, it made a brilliant car even better.
