Hi
I've had my wrx (54 plate) stood for 4 weeks but kept starting it weekly. Went out last night to go and fill her up on start up it revved upto 2000rpm and stayed at that for a while before settling down to 1500rpm where it stayed and won't drop down. Normally sits at 500. Anyone have any ideas?

 

Yep idle control valve is probably stuck. Remove it and clean with carb cleaner and all should be ok
