Default WARNING!!!!!!!!

Just in case anyone on here is bidding on a subaru that is currently due to finish today on eBay, item no 161139259150.
It's a very high mileage car, but states that it had a "full engine rebuild" in August 2012 with receipt to prove.
I've checked with the garage that the receipt is from and they have no record of any such rebuild, and that the car was purely in for an MOT only.
The receipt is also hand written and not typed as they normally are.
I have spoken to the dealer selling the car and they are as surprised as anyone, and I actually believe them.
So beware!

Dealer sounds like a prat, note the threat at the end... 'remember ebay prints an invoice with your address on it".

Lets see if he changes the advert now knowing the truth, I very much doubt it. Nice work op.

I normally try and do as much research as possible on the history of any car I buy, but when a car supposedly has had a " full engine rebuild" and then 6 months later has a service and cam belt it just didn't ring true.
In all honesty I think the dealer who's got it didn't know about the invoice maybe being, how should I say, " wrong" he's actually been in touch with the garage himself trying to get to the bottom of this.
Hopefully the ad will get pulled before it reaches it's reserve, although I doubt it will.

Somebody should send a message asking a question about the rebuild and see what he replies

Just a quick update on this, just had a call from the seller, they've been to the boys in blue to see where they stand, they are actually going to ring the garage to find out a bit more about it, they are suspecting a cash job was done, hence the hand written invoice, and maybe, just maybe, someone didn't get their certain percentage, ( I'm sure you know who I mean ).
