Default Hesitation and Loss of power

Good morning guys and gals.

i have a slight thing with my 160k mile, w reg (MY2000) Turbo 2k.

it has a few mods, prodrive exhaust and centre decat, with a VTA Dump Valve(previous owner installed dont judge me).

the car when accelerating seems to fluctuate in terms of its power delivery, if you could imagine a dyno chart i can only describe it as looking like a wave pattern. any ideas?

Also i was accelerating the other day was on boost in 3rd not gonna lie was going for it. When all of sudden it just lost power completely, all i had to do was dip the clutch then reage and the thing was normal, its never done it before or since and other than above car is fine.

Any ideas? or questions i need to ask or answer?

Going through the same process on my bug. Mine hesitates after 5000 rpm. My inlet turbo pipe was wasted so replaced that and runs better... But not right. Next on my list is solenoid check, fuel filter and fuel pump. Check your hoses for any splits...especially the inlet turbo pipe as oem ones are cack. As said could be fueling or air leak. Hope someone can give you a bit more help as I am doing process of elimination. Can be a few things from pipes to plugs., coil packs. Mine throws no errors either.

Maf, plugs, leads, coil pack and knock sensor are all good starting points. Give the maf a good clean for starters as its a common problem.

The sudden loss of power sounds like fuel cut due to over boosting.

I did the knock sensor a few weeks back so that's new.

It's been suggested I check all the vacuum hoses as they split easy. Was trying to find a MAF for mine. But seem hard to find under 130£!!!.

I stopped down all the intake a while bak maf doesn't look that dirty tbh. How would you clean it as I'm guessing it's not a leave in a dish bowl in fairy liquid over night
