Default Sti spoiler rust!

http://s781.photobucket.com/user/gma...tml?sort=3&o=0

Decided to remove my Sti's spoiler as I noticed some rust coming through. If anyone's planning on doing this make sure you open the boot with the key not the release inside the car unless you have someone to catch it....flies up like a catapult lol.

Yep I think mine needs to come off at somepoint, get the odd dribble of rusty water coming down. Presumably just from the fittings?

Its worth doing as mine had some nasty spots of rust. Im going to replace the insulation strips as they've had it too.

If you check out link to pics the rust was quite nasty and the insulation strips had perished in a few places. Its a 2005 and looks like it had never been removed.

Mine was the same, was pretty gutted at it but at least the spoiler hides it and if it starts to show I only need to spray the boot and not a large part of the car.

Its a common problem with them. Keep on top of it and you will be ok. I shouldn't need to do anything for another 8 or so yrs ha.

A rusty bootlid might be a nice excuse to get hold of a Spec C aluminium replacement from a breaker...
