Talking Newbie :)

Hi all, just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm matt, 20 from Derbyshire. Just bought my first scooby and picking it up on Saturday. I've had a few cars since I was 17 but I've always wanted one so I took the plunge last week and traded my bmw 1 series for a late '06 Blobeye 2.0 gx wagon in moondust silver. And before you all jump with the old 'get rid and save up for a turbo' then I've read it so many times on loads of forums and it doesn't bother me. Can't insure one anyway, and not having 200+ bhp doesn't really bother me. And I'll probably get a turbo in a few years. Got a few mods in mind, but nothing radical, 3.5 or 4" backbox, 17 or 18" rims, possibly white 6 spoke, drop it roughly 30mm, front lip spoiler and maybe black mesh grille. Engine wise nothing really except maybe a high flow panel filter or induction kit and maybe samco hoses or something.
You probably all didn't wanna know that but oh well!
Hi anyway
Matt

Oh and I'm a mechanic too so I know what's what with most things automobile (or I like to think so!)

Welcome aboard mate. Good solid cars them. You'll find it more secure in the cold months up on the Peaks compared to a BMW.

Nowt wrong with a non turbo Subaru so long as you don't end up covering it in stickers and huge rear wings!

Hi Matt and welcome.

I'm intrigued by a 'late 06 Blob'. Do you mean 05, or is it simply a very late registered Blob?

I think it's a very late registered blob, it's 56 plate, registered September 06. It confused me too because I'm sure hawkeyes were 06/07?

Yes, the Hawks were those years, so yours is indeed a rarity.

Hey it's late at night, it's a good enough excuse for misreading it....I should have twigged when you asked about the tax!

My misses tells me I'm crazy on a daily basis, so I'll fit right in

Well that's something, I'll wait for the logbook coming through and see of I can find out when it was built.

Well we have plenty of snow and sheep, so I'm sorted!!

Welcome aboard.

Photobucket is what I and most on here use and as simple Toneh said()
is easy to use.

Just to add further to the reg debate, you can get 55 reg Hawkeye STI's in the lower tax bracket.
