knock knock, not a joke......
well i set off today to replace the knock sensor well not a bloody easy job is it, the bolt sits right under some weird tube i cannot work out what the smeg it does, and as a result couldn't get the angle right(oo err). now i have no knock sensor installed, and a stripped thread where it bolts into the block.
brilliant!!!
i have heard i can relocate it somewhere else on the block, im going to do this instead as the moment any form of knock detection is better than none!.
here are some pics!, including the rusty old badly worn out old sensor my nice shiny new one(that i cant fit), the stripped out OEM installer hole, and the one i intend to use instead. ive even included a video complete with sarcastically pissed of voice commentary!!!

This one is the video, just click it!

Took me about 1/2 hour to take intercooler off and get old knock sensor out then 2 hours to get new knock sensor in coz angle of dangle was all wrong. Sore knuckles a bit of blood and lots and lots of swearing later it was back together. Bit of advice for subaru put the thread in straight not at a 15degree flaming angle
