Thumbs up MY04. Upgrading Question

Further to my recent post about being offered a permy job

Looking at giving the scooby a birthday present.

Initial thoughts are:

Turbo upgrade
EMU chip
ICE
Bodyshop work on damaged front and rear bumpers (Careless parking)

Any recommendations for where to go?

I'm in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire.

Cheers all.

Hi there

Really depends, how far you want to go and from this I would decide

If you have WRX then I would go down the route of the bigger turbo(VF34 or VF35,VF35 can be bought from £250-£300 as used,VF34 they usually cost around £400-£450,good option is go with older TD05-16G,which can be bought as low £100),STi injectors(they cost around £120-£160),Walbro/HRC Fuel pump and decatted exhaust and you should have nice 330-350bhp

For above you will need remap and really depends how much you are looking to spend, but Open source will be cheapest option from £300 and give you similar or same figures as EcuTek

Last bit what I would add to those mods, upgrade yours brakes and suspension if its budget, small bits like Front and rear Anti Roll Bar from STI and droplinks(CDF,WhiteLine) can transform driving of yours car

Brakes, really depends, but good pads with good discs is good starting point,if its budget Brembo from STI with good pads and discs and you can have good combo

Good luck with modding yours

Cheers Jura. Initial budget is around £2K so it sounds like I can get a reasonable amount done based on the prices you show.

Happy days
