Thoughts on this Scoob..
Sold my second scoob last year and quite simply miss it. My A4 TDI although nice to drive bores the nips off me! So, with a 1 yr old in tow another WRX is out of the question at the moment.. Found this Foz on ebay and know very little about them tbh. Any thoughts from you lot welcomed, i.e "they're rubbish steer clear" or "top motor, I had one and it was great" just fire away..

I have a 2 year old son and have just bought an 05 WRX.
I had a MK1 Focus 5 door hatch before and it's surprising how much smaller the impreza is in the back. Also, although the boot is bigger, the access is tighter. I actually remember my classic Imprezas to be roomier than the newage.
Saying that, it isn't difficult with a child. It won't be long before your little one will be climbing in and out on their own.

Forester's usually have a TD03 turbo, or something like that.
Foz will struggle in deep snow, just like the wagon, unless you fit some decent cold weather tyres. [can of worms]
One of my mates recently bought a 2004 N/A Forester for £100 as a winter run around, it's got a rattly engine but has sourced a replacement for £150.

The rear leg room in a forester isn't much better than a wagon, the boot is bigger but not by much.
Easier to get in and out of due to height.
More comfortable and quieter.
The manual 2.0 is 215bhp, the auto is 170ish.
Economy similar to an Impreza so don't expect more than late 20's mpg.
Bouncy ride but handles reasonably well.
I've had both, just sold the forester and kept the wagon, hopefully that should tell you something.
P.S that forester looks tidy for the money.
