Dodgy?
I sold a set of wheels on Ebay for pittance really just to clear. The Chap emailed me this....
To me it sounds dodgy or am I paranoid? No payment has been made.
I will send my courier and he will take the wheels on Saturday or Sunday. Whells dont' have to be packed. Send me please the address where J could take them, poste code & your telephone number.

I know, the auction was cash on collection. I've had people come to pick things up before and it hasn't bothered me, something just doesn't seem right this time. The email has come from Ebay.pl (Poland I'd imagine).

A number of possibles, as said already.
Another is phishing.
Address gives the ability to find out your name.
Email gives email address, which is likely to be the one linked to your PayPal account.
Give the address of a nearby shop or pub, Police Station - something that will be open when the courier's expected, where you can easily meet them.
Oh, and that doesn't have the same postcode as you.

It might not be the wheels that are the target. It could be the address and other personal details.
Fancy a Subaru for nothing?
Find someone selling some scooby cast-offs and get the address.
You'll probably find the rest of the car there.
And off we jolly well go.
Worse, name, address, email address, telephone number, account to pay money into (and a few other things that can be worked/found out I won't mention) and your account's going to be emptied.
We know the saying if it sounds too good to be true etc.
Another is that if it doesn't sound straightforward it possibly isn't straight.

I don't know what the wheels are worth or like, but take photos with a dated item ie' paper. Might get them picked up and then say they was damaged and paypal will give him a refund ( if its that payment method ), had a bloke turn up at nearly 1am, haggle the agreed price, then went for a refund, lucky I didn't loose out at I could prove them was fine,

You all sound parnoid... chill boys
No payment- no wheels. Some people only pay cash and if the agreement is cash on collection then that is a contract. If he/whoever collects fails to bring the money then do not let them have the wheels..
If it falls through- advertise them again

"OK thanks,
Can you send me details of the courier company please?. I will need to contact them regarding me tracking the wheels and me having a receipt. It's likely I will take them to work with me, so there are others around to witness the collection and of course CCTV. I will send you the address once I have received the required information regarding the courier company coming to collect."

Sorry I've not been in until now.
I'd have jumped in with both feet and said they'll want to pay via Paypal soon.
It's a phishing trip.

There are ******* out there! I for one dont take any chances anymore.
If people want to collect stuff, they meet me in the local supermarket carpark, and if they want to post things back, they get my work address!
A few years ago a friend broke a decent DH bike into bits and posted them all on ebay. Someone dodgy bought a cheap item off his list and requested an address to send a cheque to before posting. 2 nights later his garage was emptyed and no cheque turned up. Police later implied that the email address linked to the paypal address was a local gaggle of pie keys and there was nowt they could do.
Could have just been coincedence, but you cant be too careful! Especially if for whatever reason you have doubts about theyre scruples! they shouldnt have any issue collecting from a local supermarket etc.

Aside from the issue of you providing your location and assuming the payment is legit, I don't understand why you are concerned about tracking them. Surely, if the buyer is arranging pickup, that's his problem and all you need is a photo of the wheels going into the van with the driver's face clearly visible. Thereafter, not your problem.
The buyer is getting aggressive now, his account is registered in Poland yet his address is MK.
It's all a bit much for cheap alloys.
