Our Spanish track test.. pictures pictures!
Martyn was invited to travel out to Gibraltar by our customer Albert, to attend a track session and carry out a few upgrades and tweaks, expenses paid. Naturally I wasn't missing that gig!
We had a few new things to try, some of it secret squirrell, and the idea of a nice dry sunny test guaranteed floated the boat.
We flew out Friday the 13th. Not superstitious!
Gibraltar is under siege from the Spanish Government right now taking the form of "Border Checks" and it's truly pathetic, merely causing inconvenience to mainly Spanish workers. Some of it isn't funny, as it can involve families with young children and elderly relatives stuck in the heat for hours and hours. As if we're going to hand over Gibraltar to those idiots just because they are acting like school bullies! We got caught in the same jams, but were able to escape it by parking up the hire car in Spain and walking in.
We stayed in the Rock Hotel, an amazing place, full of colonial history, and with incredible views from the rooms.
Albert drove us to the circuit on Saturday evening, staying at this hotel.
Guadix is just perfect, set in the Sierra Nevadas, miles from any habitation, so as much noise as you like all day and all night. Big teams test here, including the likes of Aston Martin and McLaren.
Arrival..
Albert's the guy in the middle.
All very sociable, we couldn't speak a word!
Martyn at work..
Parked up in the garage!
Albert's car has one of our 2.1 strokers, twisted kit, GT35, full track extras, Alcatek etc.
Great working conditions
Amazing scenery
Including the Sinoritas!
The test went really well, no problems at all.
Tyres well scrubbed!
Considering Albert hammered the car over 250k to get there, then drove hard all day, then belted the 250k back to Gib, we were more than happy with the way everything was working in that heat!
Of course, there was the obligatory siesta..
Gibraltar is a fantastic place, loads to see and do, and we made the most of it!
Superb views
Friendly people and a great atmosphere
And very patriotic!
We'd go again tomorrow.
Many thanks to Albert for a fab weekend!

I think it's fair to say we don't get to enjoy every day as much as that one!
We're just pleased that a serious pasting of our build only came up with top results.
