Default Standard WRX Airbox *what to pay?*

Hi there,

I've recently re-entered the Subaru fold on a more permanent basis with the purchase of a 2003 WRX Wagon. Very happy with the car but with all older motors that have "seen some action" there are a few minor things to put back to normal.

It's got a carbon-effect induction kit fitted which looks pony. I am on the hunt for a standard air box. What should I expect to pay for one? Seen one for £70 on Ebay but have no idea if this is acceptable/overpriced/cheap/etc. Comes with MAF sensor btw.

Also, is there anywhere outside the dealership network to buy OEM service items such as fuel filters/oil filters/plugs/etc without dealership prices, or do you find that Subaru parts aren't generally that bad on price anyway?

Thanks very much in advance.

Don't know about the airbox price but either of these are good for service items...

and for replacement parts...

...there are plenty of others of course, you just have to get busy with the research

Nice one boys, thanks for the replies. Had a few offers over PM for air boxes at £35 and £45 delivered.

Removed the DV yesterday and re-fitted the standard re-circulation valve and the car is boosting much crisper and "appears" to be slightly better on fuel as a result.

Happy days indeed.

The car is behaving well. Now got the standard airbox and MAF pipework sorted and it's generally running way better.

I've looked at the links and I am struggling to track down some decent OEM dampers. I'm torn between standard WRX, standard STI or Bilstein B6s. Can't track the latter down easily at all so have emailed Bilstein direct.

Can anyone recommend a supplier for OEM STi shocks and springs and will they be ok on a Wagon? If not I'll scrap that idea.

Thanks again.

The vultures. Make sure you check their feedback, and do not pay paypal as gift. As with any forum, there are some dodgey sellers about.
