Will i need brake upgrade for 300-315 bhp?
Do you guys recommend I change my standard 4 pots to brembos on my bugeye , before I get it remapped to 300-315bhp ?
Or will the standard brakes be ok for this power?
Im changing my td04 for td04 hybrid.
thanks

hi, in my view, brakes vs bhp is a very strange thing that goes around.
if you dont track the car then standard is more than adequet. if more power means your gonna start hammering up to corners n braking hard then yes, better brakes would help, the bhp isnt the factor, your driving style is

Better brakes is always a good thing to do,but as said before the subaru brake set up can be made to work well with upgraded disc and pads, brembo calipers are a better caliper then the standard subaru four pot the advantage being able to use bigger disc and pads the only rub is that you need larger wheels to be able to fit the brembo caliper.SJ.

im running 315 on my wagon and i bought scoobyworx refurbed calipers with godspeed 6 slot discs and his kevlar pads and braided lines and its now a pretty good setup. as said brembos are better but unless you track the car i wouldnt bother as the set up will cost prob over 500 quid

Just looking at the godspeed website and ian offers a 335mm disc upgrade to use with the std cast 4 pots. Supplies a braket to move the calliper out etc. so with some decent pads its a viable option.

For the sake of £400/£500 quid brembos and braided have changed my car completely.
I am now getting itchy for k-sports, AP's or porka 6 pots but on the road I am happy with the b's for now.
I am in a classic however so it is lighter and therefore easier to stop. But with 440bhp regardless of weight the standards weren't cutting the mustard, especially for fade.
And... bigger brakes look the nutz.

I first upgraded the power in my blob to 340ish and did a track day at Combe with bog standard brakes, not recommended but hey I lived.
Next step for me was the Godspeed 335 kit for the 4 pots which with good pads and braided lines worked well, then a deal on a set of k sorts came up which I am on now.
I never had any fade on track with the above setups, but I know of many people with brembos who have complained of fade, so maybe they're not all that!
Decent pads, discs, lines and fluid set up well on your car would be my first choice, see how that works then think about spending more if needed.
