Thumbs up

I can't see that this topic has been posted before, but apologies if it's already been covered.

This weeks autocar has a 15000 mile report of their time with the new WRX, quotes :-

"The hottest wheels on our long-term fleet are not disappointing us - not even the costs of Impreza ownership are dulling the joy"

"performance, traction and build quality have impressed everyone"

"Running an Impreza WRX, over 3 months and 7000 miles, has cost me more than £2000. That's the price of irresistable preformance and grip, razor-sharp steering, and suprisingly good refinement. Is it a price worth paying ? YOU BET!"

I'm well happy that mine arrives in a couple of months

PS one final quote in regard to service intervals :-

"Japanese car makers are slipping behind their European rivals on servicing. Peugeot, Ford and Vauxhall have doubled their service intervals, meaning Vauxhall's Impreza rival - the ASTRA COUPE TURBO - doesn't need it's £100 first service until 20000 miles."

Astra Coupe Turbo as Impreza rival.

ROFL!!!!!

There's also an article about Subaru and Prodrive forming a new Rally team in the USA.

If thet journo thinks a high performance turbo-charged car should be doing 20,000 miles between oil changes, he shouldn't be writing about cars.

All interesting comments in that article. But as it ran to almost a complete page. Where were the comments about actually driving the car?
E.G. Over 15k miles, have any of their opinions regarding, handling, grip, steering, straight line performance etc. etc. changed.

They seemed too obsessed at how much it was costing them to run, giving detailed descriptions of each service that the car has had done, including the fact that one garage had blacked the tyres after washing. Obviously a nice touch but I would prefered more detail on how the car was actually performing.

At least we know it's not a good idea to switch tyres from the recommeded Bridgestone ones. They switched to Michelin Pilots and have since regretted it.
