Default New owner help

afternoon all,
just picked up my 1.5 r impreza 2010 model and im wondering if someone can give me some help here, it has a stupid door lock 'feature' whereby you have to press unlock 2 times to open all doors, i hate this option and am wonering if anyone know if it can be turned off at all

Hello mate and welcome.

This is a security feature, designed to ensure that you don't get an unwelcome passenger jumping in the car before you get it the driving seat.

I wouldn't mess about with it myself, due to possible insurance etc. issues if it gets nicked.

An aftermarket alarm etc. might sort it.

Our inventive Amercian friends apparently have found a way, tho' this advice is for a bugeye, as you'll see (they don't appear to have found a way around later models).

Most VW's have this as standard.

Good idea as far as I am concerned. You only have to press it twice!

I can guess where this is heading.......

As it happens the same way as the NASIOC threads. Quite amusing, some of the posts.

There's one which says "I've told the wife that it's one click for one door and 4 clicks for all 4. That way she'll give the fob enough time between the two clicks needed".
