Default Facelift Classic Speedo Question...

Can you get lockwood dials or plasma dials for the classic facelift? I know the dials are white already but they illuminate green and I want a different colour.

I did trawl through a few pages of search results before posting this but couldn't find the answer to my question.

There's no covers over the bulbs mate, The green is part of the speedo face on the facelifts... I'm assuming you have pre-face?

It's like how on the lockwoods the colours are part of the dials, It's just like that.

On my old pre-face classic it just had green caps over the buls - I was hoping this would be the same but it isn't. Yesterday I tried replacing the bulbs for some leds but the spread of light was rubbish on them and they was very dull because of the green filter in the dial faces.

I'm thinking that maybe the the dial faces could be removed and the green filter on them possibly scraped / sanded off

When I had my dials out though they looked white at the back, Maybe the green is under the white (like a middle layer)

I've been trawling the net for hours and can't find any anywhere. Lockwood probably thought because they were white already there wouldn't be any demand for them.

Can't even find any plasma ones either

I've seen a thread before where people have fitted blue bulbs that over power the green.

il do it for 15+10 delivery as its you but you gotta post your findings for us, i recon if you sand the back down a bit the scratches from the sandpaper are going to be seen when lit up?maybe heat gun and scalpel, it looks like the bumpy bit mite be bonded on??

I have plasma dials in by facelift classic as i couldn't find bright enough blue bulbs to counter out the green sufficiently.. They just slide over the needles so are easy to fit as you don't have to remove the needles to do so...They look great too..

You can't remove the green from the dials as the green is part of the dial fascia..
