Default Overpriced?

Turbo 2000 with 68k miles totally standard, seems abit overpriced seen as a few of the same milage/condition have gone for £2000 recently, what do you's think?

Someone who is looking for a low mileage clean and more importantly unmodified car will pay that all day long. Just comes down to how long the seller is willing to wait for

Doesn't seem unreasonable as it looks pretty good condition and low miles.

Looks just like mine! Well apart from mine had silver alloys, I brought mine on 62k for £2700 3years ago, I would have prefered a sti but I couldn't get insurance being 21 so I was willing to pay more to get a nice uk car, 3 years later its still going.

The seller knows it's pricey but is sensible and willing to compromise by removing goodies, which would then probably make it seem like a more realistic price for a 99 classic.

They haven't made any claims re. speed, power etc. so I'd be confident that the car has been well looked after, especially since they've taken the trouble to get SC to check it over.

I suppose the choices are between whether you're willing to pay some premium and be pretty confident that you're not going to forking out cash in the near future (because it's been looked after), whether you want that confidence and will sacrifice some of the goodies in order to get the price down, or whether resale value is important and that you wouldn't get anywhere what you pay if, for some reason you had to resell in, say, 6 months.

I had the same sort of choices to make when I bought mine.

Imo with this one I wouldn't go up that high but I would pay higher than average (after viewing and giving it some thought of course).

I think thats a fair price.

The values must be close to hitting rock bottom soon, they will start going up soon I think.

An original Impreza in the classic Blue from the era and with the Gold alloys, i'd say yes thats a fair price. It's exactly the same car I used to drive on a very pixelated PS1 now on Gran Tourismo!

I hope when it sells the new owner will keep it standard, can't be many left like that now?

i was talking to the editor of a classic car magazine over the weekend

and his view was that original unmolested early cars are starting to appreciate in value

I agree.

They seem to have hit rock bottom now. Plus a lot of the modified boy racer examples are starting to rust or have been in the hedge a few times by now.

All this makes the unmodified classics far more attractive due to their rarity.

The only thing that worries me with this car, is the colour. I'm not sure I could live with a green car and also I'm thinking about when it comes to selling it on, would the colour put other people off?

16 - yes SIXTEEN - years "in storage" ?

And they are still asking less than it cost, even allowing for inflation.
