boost on idle

Default boost on idle

im running -0.25 bar boost on idle
changed the idle valve but still problem
car is 2002 WRX

what do you think its supposed to be on idle? its vaccume so that is fine

as above its supposed to be negative as the car is pulling a vacuum

it was -0.5 to -0.6 on idle normally.
anybody with a boost gauge should know it doesnt idle that high up

Yes, it should be around -9psi (-0.6bar)
If the engine is idling ok it could be a problem with the gauge. Does it reach normal boost? Is the gauge direct reading or electric? (don't tell me it's Prosport)

Check for a split in the vacuum line to the gauge initially.

I'll second that with the prosport they are sh!te. My boost sensor has failed 3 times in 5 years and the oil pressure sensor is on its way out, confirmed results with a mechanical gauge and its reading 16psi lower than actual.

i use defi gauges and also have an apexi avc-r
both of them reads -0.25 bar

If the AVC-R is confirming it, it won't be a problem with the gauge so there has to be a problem to cause the engine to produce a low vac figure at idle. How is the car running?

thanks guys, found split boost pipe. really couldnt notice it as was right next to header tank. now idling at normal -0.6 bar
