Default Struggling for insurance

Tyring to get prices under 500 for an Impreza wrx import is a bloody joke, it's the import that's killing it...I'm in my late 40s with max (9) nc's and a decent p/code, and it's making dam all diffirence. And yes I've tried KM's (520), AF more/less the same, and some through the like of Compare the market ect, Money supermarkey, are cheaper yes, then I phone to make sure, 9/10 they then wont insure it because it's an import...this is hellish

I'd love to be paying under £500 and I've had mine 6 years

Sounds like a post code issue.

500 ish seems about right. I pay well in excess of that, all mods declared, fully comp with max no claims, garaged etc. I am with Sky, and I always ring round the companies to get them bidding for my business. Sky always price match and they are easy to get hold of too.

I'm 23 and my uk classic is £500 a year but I have a 'w' uk2000. Know it's not the same issue as its a uk car but you can have it to a similar spec for not much investment. I would go for the 520, what's 20 these days

I think the issue is the import part as at 28 I just renewed my '03 WRX for £280 F/C. From memory when I was looking a few years back Tesco were pretty good for imports, as were Elephant. After ten years I've ironically just moved away from Elephant as they just weren't able to compete but they're usually pretty favourable with imports/mods etc, and your added age may well help you compared to what they could do with me.

I tried them for temp cover just for the hell of it and wouldn't take it so thought no point in doing it for real....like I say, I've got one now......it's weird though why an import really hikes the prices up when it's the same bloody car.....just shows we're getting ripped off AGAIN!!

I know its a UK car but I just took out my policy with Privilege. 2005 WRX, parked off road, 6000 miles per year, 350 excess, 30 years old, 11 years no claims, no convictions or accidents in the last 5 years.....

£239.58!

I rang them to check it was legit too!
One happy boy!
