Default Juddering / misfiring

*now sorted*

99 UK turbo is misfiring, any ideas?

Could be coil packs , leads bad crank sensor. Have you checked the fuel filter and replaced , if needed.

Looks like the second hand MAF I bought was faulty.

I repaired the original one, car is running beautifully again

A bit of a long shot but worth a check, see if your alternator is supplying the correct voltage to your battery, something that a lot of people wouldn't think to check, including myself.
I recently did a GTI6 conversion on my 205 rally car and I couldn't find a misfire it had I know it's not a Subaru but the same sort of symptoms all the same.
I changed coil packs, fuel pump, coolant sensor then I took it to rolling road and found the alternator was on it's way out, swapped it for a new one and problem solved.
