Where does everyone mount their cameras? I'm planning on using an all-in-one camera and GPS tracking app on my Galaxy S3 so need to mount it somewhere.

Preferably I'd like it positioned so it can capture driver actions too for learning purposes but without traditional posted head rests or a cage, I'm not sure where to mount my phone.

I know suction pads are banned at many circuits so would like to avoid that, I thought of fabricating something which can harness onto the mounting points for the dome light, but wouldn't know where to start!

im also interested in this, had no idea that suction cup were banned at some, hope bedford isnt 1 of them places im be gutted if they are! track day on saturday

From googling it seems many circuits ban suction cups but not sure which so I'd rather rule it out completely.

That's my fallback if I can't mount it to capture my steering inputs

I gaffa taped my go pro to the passenger side head reat and it got all the driver footage your after. Once taped to the seat you can easily swap views on the viedo to see if its pointing in the right way
