Default how to tell when you need to change your drilled and grooved brake discs

Hi this is a hard one as I have a set of drilled and grooved discs and ther is no lip on them but it looks like 1 of the grooves is going I think ther still good but a Frend thinks I need new ones ther still working good and in good condishon so is thar a way of geting the grooves put back in them thanks

just changed my godspeed discs due to a warp in last few thousand miles, but to be fair they did about 50k miles the grooves on the inside were almost gone but still visable on the front face. Its night and day, but if your car is judder free, as they say if "its not broke dont fix it". I also noticed the slight judder i was getting at 70ish mph is gone, so win win for me.

Your probably better off changing them.

Brakes aren't something to second guess.

Use a micrometer and measure the disc thickness. If you know what brand etc they are you can probably find on the net the minimum disc thickness

Minimum thickness is 22mm , we machine our grooves 1mm deep , when the grooves have gone the discs need changing
