the exploding halfords cans were a problem we had last year, which resulted in a big recall, now sorted. if anyone has any 300ml cans they bought last summer, take them to the manager of your local branch and they will exchange/check the date of manufacture.
the mix-while-you wait paints (they're from Holts actually) aren't made by the same people as the off-the-shelf ones... if i mixed you one i'd guarantee it matched mate.

Which moves me nicely onto the subject of primers & lacquers !!
I am spraying some fog covers & the process I am goint to employ is
1) rough them up to accept paint
2) 2-3 layers of primer (white primer for silver paint??)
3) 4-5 coats of silver
4) 4-5 coats of clear lacquer.
Reason I ask is that I did this a couple of years ago & the covers have since gone a yellow" colour tinge.....
Any help appreciated

Ro,
The yellowing that you described will be the lacquer degrading after time.
You need to try and get a high quality two pack lacquer in a spray can (like they use in body shops).
I spoke with the chap from colour match and they can do this.
