Going against the grain... binned off the recirc DV!
Just thought id let you all know, ive had the car since March (2001 bug uk300), so about 4 months now. i found that on gear shift and part throttle the car could feel really jerky, slightly hesitant etc and after reading on here that some had completely removed the std recirc i thought id give it a go.
so i made up a blanking plate out of 6mm thick alloy bar, capped off the intake pipe and plumbed the boost gauge into the vac line.
the results are a much smoother drive, and its even making slightly more boost than before, but i did find that the hose from TB to IC was not tight so could have been leaking.
cant really hear the chatter tho, it sounds more of a DV whoosh
ill need to rearrange the intake pipework to get the best sound effects.
so there we go, keep the std recirc DV over a VTA, or bin the lot off if you want better response/driveability
all IMO of course!
