Default Ecu question

Hi guys after a bit of help had the scoob about a month now and love it so thought I would take a look at the ecu in there it's a classic import wrx and the code on the ecu is w9 does that sound about rite to you guys and take it this is one that cannot be mapped ? Also while here I want to get rid of the silly baileys DV that's on there as its bugging me so what best to get its theolder engine where it's not on the intercooler but down on the intake pipe I've always rated forge re circ on all my other cars but this is my first scoob and wondered what would be the best re circ to go for cheers for any help fella s

W9 is from a 93-94 wrx ra 11.47psi/240ps on the search, Also notes about a chip/piggy back for a remap fella. Can't help you with the DV as I have only ever used the standard factory one.

Plenty of DV threads on here !

The general feeling seems to be that the OEM DV is the best choice.
Do a search of threads to find the (huge amount of) pros and cons.

Might be worth taking the cover off the ECU and looking inside to see what's in there if you haven't already fella.

Firstly, check the applied model code on the vin plate. Compare it with this site -

http://www.type-ra.com/what-model-is-my-impreza/

- and find your model.

Secondly, any impreza ecu is mappable. Some just need a little board fitting thats all. Best route is ESL.

Dump valve, yep a forge re-circ is a safe bet.

Forge re-circ is only pressure rated to the standard factory PSi If you get the ECU mapped thus increasing the PSi the Forge item may not be suitable I wanted the forge item but having contacted forge I was advised not to as I was running 1.4+ bar

One of my biggest pet hates on car forums. 'Baileys' ok rant over.

I hope you are enjoying the car...I thoroughly love mine, and after a year of ownership, still look back when walking away from it.
