that's the trouble love the look of the hawk, but I hear when tuning or even as standard the pop headgaskets and crack piston ringlands? so reliability issues really, I will be modifying the car in terms of mapping and supporting mods maybe to around 360/380 mark I would be happy with, in terms of reliability and strength the blobeye is going to be the one?

The safe limit on the std 2.5 is no more than 1.3bar target boost (gives between c.350-375bhp).

Plus, importantly, any leanness/aggressive timing should be mapped out/optimised by the mapper (worthy of the name), for safety.

The thing is with every car start modding and it will give you issues, mines had ringland failure but to me it drove fine until clutch started slipping, if its had a hard life it will cost you long run, choose the one you want as even though you spend a good bit on it youll still get a smile behind the wheel

Just go for a JDM hawk, best of both worlds!

But you'll pay a hell of a lot for one.

I like the look of the hawk, but still prefer blobs. Go for a blob spec c or standard blob JDM. You won't regret it!

if you go for the hawk, check the cost for road tax, after march 06 it goes up to £440

i like them both, i nearly bought a newer (56) hawk with higher tax, for less than i paid for my 05 reg blob

Blob all day long...
Do your research and you will find if you buy a hawk then expect the bills to start rolling in.

Hawks are common head gasket failures -BE WARNED!
