Am I right in assuming the 22B was all wheel drive. It's just a mate at work who's adamant they were rear wheel drive!

Your mate is wrong. They are all wheel drive. What he maybe mixed up with is the DCCD which can make it more rear drive biased and so handle more like a RWD car. However it is permanent AWD.
