I have seen a Subaru Impreza sti jdm for sale for £7000 and was wondering is it worth buying a jdm model over a normal sti and if so what are the pros and cons between the 2 and what power can the car handle in standard form before the gearbox and internals come under stress? Thanks in advance.

Depends on the year, If it's a blobeye it's a good price if it's a bug it's over priced, Not many cons over a UK car apart from no burble and shorter 5th and 6th gear, Engine around 450bhp and gear box usually good for over 600bhp. A totally different drive from a uk car with a better turbo set up and spool.

It's a blob then, Great cars, Twinscroll turbo set up....So with an exhaust, panel filter and remap you're looking around the 360bhp/370lbft with great low down spool.
