Default Snow foam question

This may be a dumb question but is it ok to use snow foam to clean the engine bay?

I usually use Gunk degreaser, spray on, use a brush to get the worse bits off, then rinse (after covering the important bits).

Am I missing something obviously wrong with my idea?

would obviously use a diluted solution.

Snow foam, is usually ph neutral and contains no form of degreasing agent. So would be pointless.

You can spray a tfr type thing through the snow foam lance and it will foam just the same.

ahh, okedoke. Just figured that it takes up all the crap from the paint, so would do the same under the bonnet.

Glad I asked before I wasted any.

Snow foam is just a pre cleaner, I also wouldn't want to get it all over the electrics and some other bits in an engine bay. As above I wouldn't think it would do any good. I like the auto finesse avalanche, ph Neautal but contains citrus pre cleaner that's wax/Sealent safe.

All it does is sit on the paintwork and soak the dirt, bit like leaving your dishes in the bowl for 5 mins before you wash them lol

You can use most APC as snowfoam and that would work well, just don't dilute it

call me stupid by all means, but isnt pressure washing/foaming your engine bay asking for trouble? i remember years ago a mate of mine steam cleaned his xr2 engine bay and it was never right after that. roll on anti ford comments lol! personally i would prefer to do it by hand. at least you would have some control of where the cleaner is going.
