Default what is this?

(reposting due to deleting the picture earlier) marked (2) in the picture next to the boost solenoid what is it or what does it do? i noticed it yesterday when cleaning my boost solenoid and wondered if residue oil can get in it like the boost solenoid as it also has pipe work going to it and out of it...?

not my actual boost solenoid just took the picture from internet as an example.
