Default what is this?

marked (2) next to the boost solenoid just wanted to know what it is or what it does as i was cleaning my boost solenoid yesterday and thought i wonder if that has any oil residue in it to as the pipe work goes to it to...?[IMG][/IMG]
not my actual boost solenoid just taken off internet for an example.

oh ok so do you know if like the boost solenoid its prone to residue oil getting in and does it get affected by that sort of thing or is just cleaning the boost solenoid all you need to do? also do you know what its called, i tried for ages searching and couldnt work out or find out what it is or what its called?

i know what it is now, its a pressure exchange solenoid searched what you said then came up with this eventually but not 100% what it does, think it monitors air pressure in the engine bay but not sure how that relates to anything.

The ecu has to know what the atmospheric pressure is periodically so the pressure exhange solenoid will take a reading of base atmospheric pressure.
