Default Power?

Probably been posted before but was wondering how much power a standard engine in a uk turbo 2000 can take before it goes bang. I know the gearbox will probably give in around 350lbs of torque but was curious how much power the engine could take.

If its average mileage with decent history id say somewhere around 320 is pretty safe

340-350 max is about the safe limit, pretty much max out a vf35 or 34 and you will be a the top end. gearbox similar if your sympathetic, 320 is a tad overly safe.

If you can afford to fix it if/when the worst happens then yea, push the boundaries. If not then keep it around 300 and chances are it'll be fine.

ouch. ok you win.

The problem with the uk boxes is the longer gears, they can't handle the torque.
