Default reverse gear clunking and jerking

As above really plus a clacking rattling noise when driving but i can only hear when off the accelerater or coasting. Also first gear sometimes doesnt go in. Any ideas? Is it buggered?

What gear box.
my 6 speed reverse one day just dicided it was not going into reverse at all.
Thought it was the Reverse select cable.
All of the other gears were mint.

Turned out that the reverse gear cogs were worn and needed replacing, This was done but still not great at going into reverse.

Garage told me NEVER go from ant gear straight into reverse, Its a weakness of these boxes.

Defo sounds like your box is worn mate

Cheers for the reply dex. Its just a uk 5speed. Thats a bugger but certainly not the worst news. Lol i suppose i could see how the car is rolling down a hill backwards out of gear. Its making the noise whilst coasting forward out of gear so i could see if its doing anything untoward backwards
