Default Bug eye project

Hi peeps,

New to this so bare with me.

So I can buy a bug eye sti replica for under a grand.

I bet this has been asked before but if I purchase an STI engine and gearbox will it be a straight swap? It's an AWD gx impreza.

The main question is other than the engine and box what will I need to do?

And also will a classic engine and box fit straight in?

Cheers.

It will fit, but.....

Insurance will be more than an STI
ECU and loom will need changing
Exhaust will need changing
Rear diff will need changing as will propshaft, cradle and linkage if its a newage 6 speed going in.
Unless it was changed as part of the 'replica' process you'll need new suspension, inc arbs and possibly wishbones/lateral arms etc. also the hubs may need changing (rear) along with brakes etc.

As you can probably guess this question has been asked many times.
And it always ends up with the same answer, its just not worth the hassle. And in the long run will be more expensive than buying a real sti.
